Recreational Soccer is open to everyone, regardless of experience or skill level and has a single Fall Season. Competitive soccer players must attend tryouts and typically play a Fall Season, and various other events throughout the rest of the year (Spring league, State Cup, tournaments, etc.).

Loomis SC is a volunteer-based organization. All recreational head coaches and assistant coaches are required to complete applicable background checks and league credentialing requirements. Volunteer leadership remains a core component of our club structure.

We value positive leadership, player development, and alignment with club philosophy.

LSC will follow the new US Club Soccer Age Matrix which generally aligns with grade level. Please visit the link to determine which age group your player will participate.

U6-U8: Size 3
U9-U12: Size 4
U13-Up: Size 5

Loomis SC supports and encourages multi-sport participation.

Families should communicate scheduling conflicts in advance.

Balancing multiple sports is encouraged when it supports long-term athlete development and well-being.

Regular Registration fees are $235 per player. Late Registration fees are $250 per player. Uniforms are required and will be approximately $50 and run on a two-year cycle.

Fee Waivers

If you have a financial need and would like to request a scholarship (full or partial) for your child’s registration, please reach out to president@lysc.net and operations@lysc.net.

Recreational players are required to purchase the official club uniform kit designated for the current cycle. Uniforms are typically used for a two-year period.

Uniform kits include jersey and shorts. Additional spirit wear may be available but is optional. Recreational teams may purchase team socks of their choosing.

Custom uniforms are not allowed.

Uniform ordering instructions are provided following team placement.

Our goal is to create balanced teams while honoring player and family preferences whenever possible.

Team placement is completed in the following order:

1. Coach & Team Requests – If a parent has volunteered to coach, their player will be placed on that team. We also prioritize confirmed team requests when space allows.

2. Friend Requests – We make every reasonable effort to honor one mutual friend request per player, provided both families request each other and roster sizes allow.

3. School & Community Considerations – After team and friend requests are placed, players are grouped by school and community to help maintain connections and convenience for families.

While we do our best to accommodate requests, roster balance and overall team numbers must come first to ensure a positive experience for all players.

They can request to “play up” to one age group above the appropriate age group. However, that request will be met based on available space, and the approval of the the Coach and the Registrars. Players are not allowed to “play down” to the lower age group, except when there is a serious medical condition, and a doctor’s note to verify this need. If you would like your child to play outside of their age group, please indicate that in the Requests section on the registration form.

Recreational teams practice once or twice per week at local fields. Practice schedules are available in Byga once teams are formed.

Games are played once per week on Saturdays. Approximately half of all games are hosted in Loomis, with the remaining games played in nearby communities including Rocklin, Roseville, Lincoln, and Granite Bay.

U15–U19 teams may travel slightly farther for away games, but all travel remains within the greater Sacramento region.

Loomis Youth Soccer Club uses Byga for team schedules, communication, and updates. Once rostered, families will receive practice times, game details, and team messages through Byga.

We strongly encourage downloading the Byga mobile app for the easiest access to schedules and notifications.

If you are not receiving updates, please verify your contact information and notification settings within your Byga account.

The game schedule for the first half of the season will typically be posted about 5 days before the first game.  The schedule for the second half of the season will typically be posted about 5 days before the first game of the second half of the season.

The photos are used to make player cards, which the referees check before each game to verify that the player belongs on the team. The League requires current pictures of each player.

There are no tryouts or evaluations. The recreational program is available to players of all skill levels at all age groups.
