Recreational Soccer Registration

Recreational Soccer 2023 Season

REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN FOR THE FALL 2023 RECREATIONAL SEASON!!

****Note: Most age groups are now set up for the wait list. In some cases, there are just a few spots left. In most cases, this is due to not having enough coaches. (If you are willing to coach, please contact me asap!)

As we have additional coaches, or as space permits, I will take kids off the wait list, in the order they were registered. Please register your child normally. If they are on the wait list, you will not be charged until they have a spot.

You MUST use the specific link below to register.

Please complete the entire registration. If done correctly, you will receive an immediate confirmation email. If you do not receive that email, please go back into Got Sport and complete your registration.

RETURNING PLAYERS:

Your information will be in your account from last season. Please double check that it is all current and accurate. Please make sure to update your child's grade during the Fall 2023 season, any friend/coach requests, and that there is a photo for players U9 (2015 birth year)  or older.

NEW PLAYERS:

Be sure to add a Birth Certificate for all players, and a photo for those who will be playing at level U9 (2015 birth year) or older.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the cost for the rec soccer program?

Early bird registration is $150 and will increase to our late registration price of $175. This includes 2 fundraiser cards per player ($10 each) which families can keep or sell to recoup the cost. The cards provide discounts at local restaurants and businesses. Uniforms may also need to be purchased at an approximately cost of $40-$50.

When is the game schedule posted?

The game schedule for the first half of the season will typically be posted about 5 days before the first game.  The schedule for the second half of the season will typically be posted about 5 days before the first game of the second half of the season.

Are there tryouts?

No, there are no tryouts or evaluations. The recreational program is available to players of all skill levels at all age groups.

When will I hear from the coach/be notified of the team information?

Coaches should contact players before the end of July.

Tell me about uniforms?

All LYSC recreational soccer teams wear the same uniforms. All players must have a uniform, as well as cleats and shin guards. Fun Socks are allowed, otherwise, CUSTOM UNIFORMS ARE NOT ALLOWED UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES!!

Uniforms will be available for purchase online or in person from:
Soccer Pro
11726 Fair Oaks Blvd, Fair Oaks, CA 95628
(916) 962-0880

You can go to https://www.soccerprouniform.com/store/clubs and go down to the Loomis Soccer icon to order. If you have questions regarding sizing, you can follow this link: soccerprouniform.com/sizing or feel free to email fairoaks@soccerproinc.com

We are keeping our uniforms from the 2021 season. The uniforms will have a single yellow jersey, black shorts, and black socks (or fun socks). If two Loomis teams play each other, one of the teams will wear colored pinnies, which will be provided to the coaches.

What size ball should i get?

U6-U8: Size 3
U9-U12: Size 4
U13-Up: Size 5

How do you form the teams?

The criteria to determine where your child will be placed include the following:

  1. Appropriate age division
  2. Requests made on the registration form
  3. Which team they played for the prior season.
  4. If none of these criteria apply, we try to group players with others from their school.

How many practices are there every week and where are they?

Teams will practice once or twice per week.  All practices will be at local Loomis/Penryn Fields.

How many games are there every week and where are they played?

One game per week.  All games will be on Saturdays.  About 1/2 of the games will be played in Loomis.  The remainder will be played in Rocklin, Roseville, Lincoln, or Granite Bay.  The U15 to U19 age groups typically travel a bit further for their away games, but all will be in the Sacramento region.

My child IS FOUR YEARS OLD. Can they still play?

Age divisions are determined by birth year. This season, children born in 2018 will be the youngest eligible to play. Anyone born after 2018 will be unable to play, with no exceptions.

Can children play outside the age group indicated on the age matrix?

They can request to "play up" to one age group above the appropriate age group. However, that request will be met based on available space, and the approval of the the Coach and the Registrars. Players are not allowed to “play down” to the lower age group, except when there is a serious medical condition, and a doctor’s note to verify this need. If you would like your child to play outside of their age group, please indicate that in the Requests section on the registration form.

What is the difference between Recreational and Competitive level soccer?

Recreational Soccer is open to everyone, regardless of experience or skill level and has a single Fall Season. Competitive soccer players must attend tryouts and typically play a Fall Season, and various other events throughout the rest of the year (Spring league, State Cup, tournaments, etc.).

Why do I need to give you a new picture?

The photos are used to make player cards, which the referees check before each game to verify that the player belongs on the team. The League requires current pictures of each player.

Who runs the Loomis Youth Soccer Club?

LYSC is a non-profit volunteer organization, not affiliated with any school districts or the town of Loomis. LYSC depends on the volunteer Board members, coaches and parents to keep things running smoothly.

How can I help?

Our #1 need is coaches!! Put simply, our recreational program cannot exist without the help of volunteer coaches. Previous soccer experience is not required and we will provide help to new coaches. Coaching is a fun and rewarding experience that you and your child will remember for years to come. If you are even considering coaching, please answer Yes to the question about being willing to coach.

Can the late fees be waived?

Unfortunately, late fees cannot be waived. To avoid these fees, just remember to complete your registration before the cut off date.

Am I guaranteed a spot on the team that I request?

We will certainly do all we can to accommodate all requests, but cannot guarantee any placement.

Have an additional question? Please feel free to contact our registrar.
