About Us
The Loomis Youth Soccer Club (LYSC) provides an opportunity for children from five through eighteen to learn and play soccer. Teams are available for all levels of ability and interest, from the raw beginner to the next high school star. Last year the club fielded 50+ teams and provided a great athletic experience for over 800 children. In excess of 100 parents and volunteers coached and supported the club's charter to make soccer available to everyone interested.
LYSC players come from Loomis, Penryn, and parts of Granite Bay and Newcastle. The club makes a strong effort to place children on teams with their friends or schoolmates.
To keep the club vibrant we need new volunteers each year. If you cannot personally volunteer, help us recruit qualified people. If you have any interest in soccer and would like to help, please contact our club manager, Bill Keller, at 772-2970 or by Email at
How you can help:
-
Volunteer for a coaching or board position. Many of the positions are filled by long standing volunteers that could use help or a break. We need newer parents to step up so we can continue to provide the support required each year. Most of the positions do not involve a significant amount of time - and they can be fun. It's OK to buddy up with a friend to fill one position for double the fun and half the effort.
-
Have your child try out for the select and/or competitive teams. Many of your children may be missing the opportunity to play more games, learn from more experienced coaches and play against better competition. If your children want to play soccer in high school, they need the experience of playing at the select or competitive level. There are teams from under 10 through under 19. If you have any questions, please call our club manager, Bill Keller at 772-2970 or Email your inquiry to

All new coaches will need to attend "Learn to Coach" clinics. The beginning certification clinic is free and takes only a Friday night and a Saturday. After completing the clinic you will feel comfortable coaching younger children - even if you start out not knowing anything about soccer! Don't think this is only for the men - we need more women in the coaching ranks.
